CLAIMING YOUR TERRITORY FOR THE LORD

Are you living in a city or town where your dream has come true? Are you in this place due to family relocation?

"And seek the peace of the city whither I have

caused you to be carried away captives, and pray unto the Lord for it; for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace." Jeremiah 29:7

Wherever you find yourself living, it is time to claim that territory. Pray to the Lord asking Him to let you know how much territory you are to be responsible; for your neighborhood, your township, your city, your county, or even your State.

"I exhort therefore; that, first of all, supplications,
prayer, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for
all men; For kings, and for afl that are in authority; that we
may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and
honesty. 1 Timothy 2:1,2

We often think that we are to pray for people to be saved. If we save the people can we expect to see their city change? Has there been revival in your city? Are the pockets of believers throughout the city keeping their hands in their pockets? How many churches are on the streets?

It is time for you to bring down the powers and principalities over your city. The history of the early Salvation Army movement illustrates how they set up city- wide strategies.

HERE IS HOW TO SET UP YOUR ATTACK ON YOUR CITY:

Know that Satan's kingdom is limited and you need to pull down the powers and principalities of his realm.

"For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." Ephesians 6:12

Ask God if you are to be the one:

"See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to thrown down, to build, and to plant."

Jefemiah 1:10

You need to understand that God's

power is directed, " He gives power for doing miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another divers kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues." 1 Corinthians 12:10

Think over the above verses and stop a moment to seek God in what role you are to take for your city.

You must be committed and diligent in your daily prayer times, in the morning, afternoon and evening.

Discern Satan's deceptions. Become aware of your city's problems. The people in your area are directly influenced by the powers over the city.

Cities are influenced by how others perceive it:

A city that exists for pleasure.

A city that exists for education.

A city that exists for government.

A city that exists for commerce.

A city that exists for industry..

A city that exists for the military.

Cities change from their founding to the present day. Demons come and go as they respond to the changes of the city. You are now ready to begin to plan your attack. Visit your local library and research your local history. Don't forget to go all the way back, even to the creation. It is easy to understand that cities who lie on fault lines (earthquakes) will have a spirit of being unsettled.

As you look up the local history be sure to research the religious history. What was the tribe of Indians? Were there missionaries? Who discovered the region during early exploration? Did that ethnic group stay? What did the Industrial Revolution bring to the area? What are the major influences upon your area today and what of the future?

Attend large church functions held in your area and seek out the intercessors. Discuss with church leaders the political and spiritual concerns of the city.

Mark a city or county map locating the various sectors of commerce, industry and population class levels. Each sector will have spiritual and demonic powers over the businesses and population.

It is time for you to change your thought life. The lower soul will think things through, while the higher spiritual level will pray for discernment. Take it as a spy mission, seeking out the enemy's plan of deception. What demonic forces are undercutting your area from team sports. The winning and or losing streaks

of the local football or baseball team brings about change in the mood of the community. Identify the sins of the city and ask God for mercy.

Now wait, pray and seek God's plan for attacking your city.
